One Solution for Emergency Communications
The video above is produced by the California Office of Emergency Services (OES). It portrays actual events that occurred during California wildfires. It shows one community's plan to deal with emergencies when normal communications have failed.
Important Note: All radio equipment is not the same. The Midland radio transceivers depicted in the video have limited capabilities. In some older models, the frequency pairs are set to only one per channel and are unable to use split tones. Some repeaters used by the Arizona Emergency Services Group and the Arizona GMRS Repeater Club (AGRC), use split tones. More information is available in the member area of the AGRC website.
